We brought fleece-lined tights in multiple deeper skin tones to customers in early 2023 and pushed the category further with true sizing, including the category’s first 3XL.

The demand was always there. The options were not.
At the time, fleece-lined tights were gaining attention, but the options available overwhelmingly came in one light "nude" shade. For women with brown and deeper skin tones, the illusion simply didn't work.
We knew women deserved better.
So we set out to create fleece-lined tights designed with melanin in mind...
January 2023
Soft Launch
In January 2023, Melanin Fleece Tights entered the market with our first commercially dyed fleece-lined tights, initially offered in the two standard sizes available at the time.
Two standard sizes: S/M and L/XL.

Three Shades. Made With Melanin In Mind.
More than 50+ samples later, we selected three skin-tone shades for our manufactured fleece-lined tights, designed to make the sheer illusion work for women who had largely been overlooked by the category. We also introduced sizing up to 3XL, bringing the category its first true plus-size option.

What Happened Next
What Started as an Idea
Became a Category.
After Melanin Fleece Tights entered the market, we watched the category transform. New brands and sellers emerged, most offering products with the same shade formulas under different names and branding, alongside shade names and size ranges we had already introduced.
Even the language around the product began to shift, with footed fleece-lined tights increasingly marketed under names like “fleece-lined leggings” and “magical fleece-lined leggings.”
Then came more sellers with different names. And more after them. In time, even brands that followed us began seeing imitators of their own.
Today, multi-shade fleece-lined tights can be found throughout Amazon, TikTok and beyond.

Developing more inclusive skin-tone shades and sizes was our starting point, not our finish line. From the beginning, we’ve listened closely to our customers and kept asking one question: How can we make this better?

We introduced the category’s first Tall lengths, giving taller customers more room, coverage and a better fit.

We expanded stirrup fleece-lined tights beyond traditional beige shades, introducing multiple inclusive skin tones, sizes and lengths.

We moved to a single-seam construction for a smoother, more comfortable fit that moves with you.

DIAMONDFIT™
Developed in 2025 through our sister brand, our signature DiamondFit™ gusset joined MFT in 2026 for improved fit, more room and less pulling and sagging.

What began in 2022 as a solution to one overlooked problem has grown into something much bigger. We’re proud to have played a role in changing what women can expect from this category. We’ve evolved with them, creating better fit, more inclusive shades, new ways to wear fleece-lined tights, and designs made for real life and real bodies.
Every new shade, size, length, silhouette and design improvement brings us closer to the same mission we started with: creating better options for the women this category too often overlooked.
