MelaninFleeceTights™ is a brand committed to being inclusive in all ways. After seeing the viral translucent fleece-lined tights, our founder was ready to purchase one for her chocolate dark-skin self only to scour the internet to find zero options for women of color. Not only were the colors extremely limited, the sizes were also limited! The fact of the matter is, the average dress size of women is 14 and 16 in the US and UK, respectively. As a result, we felt compelled to find a solution to fill these two gaps in the market.

After months of hard work in 2022, we launched January 2023 with a limited supply in standard sizes to test the market and we received great reviews and feedback. We have since been diligently working with our suppliers to perfect our shades and offer more sizes. After much trial and error (literally 40+ samples!), we have perfected our colors into three shades and four sizes for our September 2023 fall launch. Our shades (Chocolate, Caramel and Honey) offer a great range for all our melanated beauties from dark brown, medium brown to light brown. We are also excited to launch our new range of sizes that fit S-3XL including plus sizes. Since our fall launch, there have been many copycats to date claiming to have created the same colors (and shade names) we were first to release into the market which only tells us we're headed in the right direction. In February 2024, we released our Tall sizes! We are committed to expanding our collection to include all skin tones and body types as we continue to grow! Stay tuned.
